Plate ReNitriding and Lapping is an often overlooked component of a proper rotary engine rebuild.  All the attention goes to rotors, and ports and seals – but without plates up to the task – all that other work is for naught.

PLEASE NOTE: The ReNitriding / Heat Treating process is optimized for use with OEM Seals.

 

Our Plate ReNitriding and Lapping Service includes the following:

  1. Clean Strip Plates.
  2. All attached hardware removed striped and plated to OEM Spec.
  3. Surface ground flat.
  4. Gas furnace nitrated to meet or exceed OEM specifications. Our gas heat treat methods yields plates that are 50%-70% more durable than OEM new side housings!
  5. Final light lap to ensure all plates are true and Flat .0001 + / – also removes gas furnace slag.
  6. OEM brass oil galley plugs drilled/removed, new NPT anodized plugs installed, all new freeze plugs installed.
